For three generations, Damien Pinon has cultivated a 32-hectare family wine estate in Vernou-sur-Brenne, in Indre-et-Loire (37). The estate produces Vouvray wines, both sparkling and still. As an independent winegrower, Damien Pinon is renowned for the quality and delicacy of his wines. The estate’s clay-limestone terroir allows him to craft wines that are rich, balanced and fruity.
The vineyard is around 30 years old on average and is partially renewed every year. We also cultivate several plots of old vines, which produce wines with even greater complexity and character. For any wine order or further information about our cuvées, please contact Damien Pinon on +33 (0)2 47 52 15 16 or via our online contact form.
Before making our wines, we take great care of our soil and vines. Located near Vouvray (37), our wine estate places great importance on sustainable vineyard management practices.
Our vines are cultivated according to the principles of organic farming. Grass is allowed to grow between the rows to preserve the biological life of the soil, while the soil around the vines is carefully cultivated to encourage the roots to grow deeper and fully express the unique character of our terroir.
In recognition of these practices, the vineyard was awarded Level 3 High Environmental Value (HVE) certification in 2020.
Building on this experience, we decided to formalise our commitment and began converting the entire estate to organic farming in 2020.
In June 2023, the conversion of the entire vineyard was successfully completed. Our estate is now officially certified organic (AB – Agriculture Biologique)!
Passionate about his profession and deeply committed to respecting the vines, Damien Pinon continually strives to preserve the ecological balance of the land, which is essential to protecting our terroir for future generations.
Our winemaking expertise is applied every day, from grape to wine, combining time-honoured traditions with modern techniques. Harvesting is carried out mechanically for our base wines, while grapes for our still Vouvray wines may be harvested by hand. During pressing, the winemaker carefully selects the finest juices from the harvest to produce wines that are elegant and refined, while retaining their distinctive complexity and character.
Alcoholic fermentation takes place exclusively using indigenous yeasts, naturally present on the grapes, allowing the unique expression of our terroir to shine through. The wines are then carefully aged, with weekly lees stirring (bâtonnage) to enhance their texture, roundness and richness.
Come and taste our Vouvray wines and discover Damien Pinon’s expertise for yourself!
